Supporting 4-7 year olds online

Colleagues at CEOP (Child Exploitation and Online Protection) have launched a new website for 4-7 year olds with accompanying guidance for parents and carers.

Many colleagues will already be aware of the ThinkUKnow (TUK) Jessie & Friends episodes and the new interactive website encourages 4-7s to engage safely online by helping them to recognise worrying, upsetting or scary situations and reinforcing the key message that they should ‘Tell A Grown Up’ in these instances.

Divided into four sections, the site includes relevant and age-appropriate games for 4-5 and 6-7 year olds on topics including gaming online (6-7 y/o), sharing pictures (6-7 y/o), chatting online (6-7 y/o) and watching videos.

In addition, there is an accompanying guide available to download to support parents and carers navigating the website with their child, providing information on the background and purpose of the site plus information about each of the games and conversations starters to use with children

You can access the new TUK website at: https://www.thinkuknow.co.uk/4_7/

The associated guide for parents and carers can be downloaded at: https://www.thinkuknow.co.uk/professionals/resources/4-7s-website

Did you know?  We have a dedicated page for Parents & Carers with more information and recommended resources in the Online Safeguarding section of the website.
